There are many substance abuse treatment programs at the Dominican Republic: many of them offer treatment based upon falses premises, especially relying on offering a " CURE" of the addiction problem; hiding the fact that there is no definitive cure for the disease. Another issue is that they do not have technical staffers,proper credentialing here and abroad. The so called " NON_ GOVERMENT ORG ( ONG!S) are the ones in the worst position to helping addicts and their relatives, due to the fact that they barely know the principles of addiction medicine.
